"Schinderhannes came as a suggestion for a place where the locals go and we were not disappointed. The building is absolutely charming and it was all decorated for Christmas when we went. Our server didn’t speak English, but brought us English menus which are so...well done and did an amazing job of u derstanding us and our oh so American google translating. The portions were very large and the whole family ate for around We had currywurst, schnitzel, wild pork with dumplings, weisswurst and another pork dish. All just so good. The bathroom doors in both the men’s and women’s gave us adults a chuckle so make sure to check those out. Definitely on our list of favorite local eateries"

"General/Ambience The Hunsrücker Fass has long been on the list of restaurants I wanted to test. The positive review of my critic friend Petra IO made me curious and so I reserved a table in short. Since the end of 2013, the traditional Hotel Restaurant in Kempfeld has been refurbished by a new operator who is very expensive with a lot of taste, expertise and attention to detail. Guests will find a unique feel-good atmosphere in and around the house, which is looking for in the region of its same. On the cozy terrace you can admire Japanese ornamental carp in beautifully landscaped ponds while pulling their tracks. Inside, it is elegant and rustic, whether in the restaurant with open fireplace, the rural Tyrolean bar or the old farmhouse. Service We were operated by two very nice young waiters, there was nothing to complain about The service was from welcome to adoption: simple friendly, unobtrusively attentive and flee. Always with a smile and asking if everything is right. Competent we received information about the dishes and the various open wines of the house. Food The well-sorted menu offers upscale farmhouse cuisine for every taste. Wild, meat, fish, seasonal dishes, vegetarian and, of course, regional specialities such as the original Idar Obersteiner Spießbraten from beech fire. There is also a 3 gear menu of €24.50 and 2 recommendations from the head of the house. Our choice beef with herbal flakes to 4,80 € Original Idar Obersteiner Spießbraten mit Bauernbrot vom deutschen Rinder Entrecote zu 18,50 € and a small mixed salad to 3,50 € Tranche vom Lachs mit Spargel Kaiserschotengemüse, Bärlauchtagliarini und Sauce Hollandaise zu 17,50 € As a greeting from the kitchen there was a delicious homemade white cream Rating: There was nothing to put out on the cow's strength broth, the best soup for a long time. Very spicy and taste-intensive with hearty herbal bottles an ideal entree. The colonel's skewer from the intermediate rib piece of the beef was unmatched. The meat with the typical fat-eye, absolutely streak-free and finely marbled, pleasantly spicy well marinated over hours, was handcrafted perfectly grilled, buttery in bite, hearty and aromatic in taste. Praise to the kitchen for the selection and marinating of approx. 350gr heavy and 4 cm thick entrecote steaks. But the waitress, who was responsible for grilling alongside the service at the table, also deserves a very thick praise. She was the real barbecue master and understood to bring the meat perfectly medium to the plate. The supplements to steak disappointed in quantity and taste. Although fresh and crunchy in the composition, I found the sauces faded and a little courageous. Leaf and raw food salads without any pep. The radish salad to the spit roast was better tasted, but the portion would have fit into an espresso cup. I was so tired of the lush meat portion that I could only taste from the salmon, perfectly roasted on the spot, a great piece of fish and absolutely free of bones. The ingredients were also excellent. My wife gives full score. dessert: a mixed ice cream with cream at 3,80 € and a coffee at 2,10 € companion for food: mineral water 0.75l to 5,50 €, Kirner Pils at 2,20 €, 0.1l champagne Pinot blanc brut at 4,80€ and a Grauburgunder 0,2l to 4,50 € All in all a successful visit. For the kitchen I give 5 stars despite weakness in the salad dressing. Conclusion: upscale farmhouse kitchen in pleasant ambience. 100% recommended."
In nice weather you can even have something in the outdoor area.
