"Last night we had our first fishing and chips of silver sea. we are more profitable and have eaten a large amount in the course of the years, but the silver sea fish and chips was the best we ever tasted, all perfect. the shop was impressive and immaculately clean and the staff efficient, friendly and seemed very happy. a great experience, we will come back very soon. thanks silver sea."

"Had a big cod and chips, the fish was almost perfect, just a few crispy bits I hate. the chips broke back to perfection as they were not overcooked. never had a bad meal, I usually have cake, but last 2 times I went for the healthy option of fish. thumbs up to the bay fishbar"

"Update 29th Oct 2021 Thought I'd try it again as the original owners are back in charge. Was impressed, lovely cooked fish and decent portion size. Only 1 size fish now but I think that will help with maintaining consistent quality. Well done Dan's I'll be back in a few weeks to try again. 4 stars, maybe 5 if the next visit is just as good. Fancied some fish and chips last Friday (10th Jan), only ever get one portion and share with my wife as we are not big portion eaters. I was really disappointed with the large cod it used to be much bigger and also I cant say for sure but it just did not seen fresh considering they say all if freshly cooked to order. The fish seemed really dry and parts of it tasted stale. The chips were ok. We used to go to Dan's quite a lot in the past but we have also noticed a huge drop in quality, portion size and become over priced. Dont think I'll be heading back now will drive 2 minutes further and go to Frimley. Sorry Dan's but since you opened up on Farnborough high street you've seriously neglected an already falling service at this shop and it really shows. I was the only customer in as well which I've never experienced there before especially considering 7.45pm on a Friday."

"Fairly average fish and chip shop I’ve had worse but I’ve definitely had better. The chips were a bit soggy and could have done with crisping up a bit, and the cod had quite a thick batter that was a bit undercooked and soggy on the inside; both were quite greasy. The fish itself was fine but completely fell apart as soon as a knife and fork touched it. The fish was already cooked when I came into the shop but I was assured it was recently cooked (they would say that wouldn’t they? Cod, small chips and mushy peas cost £10.50. The portion sizes were generous. The food was placed in a plastic bag rather than a paper one which is never a good sign, and would have made it go even soggier if I didn’t remove it as soon as I got to the car. Ok if you’re very local and don’t want to drive too far but I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to get food from here when there are better options such as Silver Sea or Skippers not far away."
