"This is an excellent authentic German restaurant that offers a great selection of classic German entrees and attentive and friendly service. It received my father-in-law 's stamp of approval , whose parents both were born in Germany. The prices are in the high range but reasonable for the large portions they serve and the meals do include a nice free salad bar with a good selection including two soups of the day. Nice selection of traditional well known German draft beers. I was impressed enough to seek out the owner to personally thank him for providing such an excellent dining experience."

"Excellent quality German food and definitely plentiful portions. We ordered a sample plate as the main course and we had enough meat for two lunches. The desserts were amazing and generous portions we share. Beautiful interior and exterior decor was also available. Great place for the family together. We were on vacation in Lake George and the culinary experience set a nice touch on our overall experience."

"I've been in the lock many times and the last ones were disappointed. while the service is always quite good, eating was at best moderate. my fish escape was overtaken and the red velvet was dry. my man was a bad escape but was well done. the menu has not changed very much in a few years and I think they will always be rewarding what is too bad for such an expensive restaurant."

"Very good coffee and very good breakfast sandwiches. It?s just a 0.5 mile walk from the sagamore so I recommend to choose it as an option at least one morning if staying there. Just be prepared to wait in line. It is very popular! It can be up to 25 minto order and then wait for food when busy, but chances are if you?re here on vacation you?re not in a rush anyway."
