"This Ristorante & Pizzeria, formerly called "Europa" has a new name, Matera, and excellent food, service and atmosphere. Since this traveler stayed in the area only two months, I cannot speak to the previous management, etc. However, it is great little restaurant now. The service is impeccable, with a well-rounded menu and comfortable décor. There are seasonal specialties and daily chef's creations to augment the Italian appetizers, soups, salads, pastas and pizzas. We visited twice and had the same great experience each time. Specifically, I greatly enjoyed the salads, both the Caprese on the first visit, and their house special salad the Insalata Matera on my second solo trip. It was much more filling than I expected (see photo) featuring four each of grilled shrimp & chicken medallions. The lovely owner assured me I could order a small size of the house salad on my next visit. Her English (I do not speak Italian or German) is very good which was very helpful, and her friendly personal service was appreciated. I also tried their spaghetti carbonara on the first visit and loved it. The pizza, which I was too full to finish, was less inspiring. My date was very pleased with his selections, which included wines from the region and also a good selection of Italian vintners. Next time I will save room for their appealing dessert menu and an espresso!"

"Have stayed here for a few times for Frankfurt Book Fair - it's about a 20 min commuter train ride into the city from Eppstein. I also prefer the cosy hospitality of this place to the impersonal and soulless chains further into the city,This year was my first stay since Seyfettin handed the business over to his nephew who has done an excellent job of stepping into his uncle's shoes. Rooms are basic, yet clean and comfortable. Not all are en suite, so check when booking. Overall however, I don't think that there is better value to be had anywhere else near Frankfurt.The bar is also a good place to hang out - they offer a decent selection of beers."
Zum Taunus from Eppstein is a good place for a bar to have a beer after work and be able to hang out with friends, Here, the meat is freshly cooked on an open flame. The experience of various sports events is also a big draw, when you are in this sports bar, In addition, the drinks menu that is offered in this established eatery is impressive.
