"What a shame such a lovely venue and the food did look good. We arrived without a booking on a Saturday and understand its a busy venue but all the staff were rude when we asked if we could just sit down for a quick drink. You can 't sit outside, defiantly not if you 're just having a drink. There were free tables the whole time we were there but got sat inside reluctantly. We ordered a snack bowl of deep fried jalapenos which were nice and had one drink. We then left and the bill came with 12.5% service charge on it. We asked if it could be taken off and were met with WHY? you had food! it got taken off in the end but it felt like becase we weren 't booked and we didn 't sit down for a full meal we weren 't worth bothering with. Such a shame customer service lets a wonderful venue down. Everyone was rude. Service: 1"

"Last week Thursday I was in burgess hill and looking for a curry, found this place and they did not disappoint, the lammbhuna was so good and tasty, the Keema rice was on point. they gave papageia and their mint sauce is one of the best I had. great food, friendly staff. when in burgess hill again and again, deffo order of her again."

"I know you see a lot of reviews claiming they've just had the best roast ever, but this was actually the best roast I've had. Me and the Mrs go all over Sussex trying roasts and this place is in 1st place. The staff were friendly and approachable, the setting is beautiful and the food is delicious and full of flavour. "For dinner, 2 vegan, omni’s. vegans had the “Sausage” roller starter, which was generous, but for £7.50) it should have been. net: 1 burger with fryed £13.95) and 1 roasted cube cauliflower with cousin £14.75) I have made to house better burger, but my oh enjoyed the flower cauliflower. dessert was my favorite dish caramel biscuit torte a beautiful generous portion. I want to be awakened when I eat, but it was all in order. I'd rather go to wetherspoons because it's much better for food that's quite similar."

"Great place for a working lunch on a Friday. There recommendation. Xmas menu was great. Staff were attentive and showed good efficiency and communication. Fire place is amazing. Shame couldn't stay for the music being set up bet its lively oh next time I'll bring my golf clubs. Club at the same venue!!"

"Came here for a pre Xmas meal with a couple of friends and this pub was very welcoming with a lovely fire warming the room and friendly staff to greet us. The food with a varied menu and service were both excellent and will definitely be coming back again. Couldn’t rate this pub highly enough and would recommend it to anyone."
