"We had lunch here with our son, daughter and new granddaughter. All of the food was superb but a special mention from me for the fish pie, the best I've ever had in a pub (and I've had more than a few! . The lunchtime meal deal 2 courses for £25 is brilliant value for money but everything was well priced for food of this quality."

"We booked a half board room at the manor of groves the room was dark,dated and pretty sad looking, we was welcomed by a massive hornet flying round the room and broken springs on the bed. Food was ok the lamb starter was just cold and a load of lamb shoved in a ring to look better the chicken main was beautiful, staff were friendly and welcoming the restaurant it's self could be made better felt like I was sitting in a gang way and after we relised the bar menu was more to our taste, it is an old building but it needs a revamp in some areas"

"I felt very sorry for the staff here today ! After waiting over 45 mins in a que to get food ,the 1 guy carving was just so under pressure with the ammount of delivery orders coming in , and lack of help from his colleagues , he couldn't do his job properly ,he was stressed out visably to us , the serving station was a complete mess with dried up food everywhere , there was a boy that came out to put vegtables into a takeaway box while doing it was wiping sweat off him self then touching the containers with the same hand !! With covid I would have thought that to be a massive no no ! Very off putting , when we finally got back to the table our side dishes were sat there cold where we had been waiting so long , the waitress had changed during our wait and had wondered where we were as she hadnt seen us since her shift started !!! A real Shame we used to love coming here! But it seems now that deliverys are priority over customers coming in and we are made to wait !! Not only causing a nuisance for us ! But adding to a very stressful work place for the staff you do have ! Who honestly were just run ragged !!"

"We visited The Manor of Groves to meet up with friends that we hadn 't seen for a while and we wanted to catch up over afternoon tea. Two of us arrived first and we were told that our reservation was booked for lunch and not afternoon tea even though I insisted I had an email confirmation for afternoon tea. The waiter was happy to try and arrange something so that we were able to have afternoon tea. One staff member spoke to us very rudely as we were trying to explain what had happened, he told us 'well if you listen ' and stopped us from talking. We were then asked to sit in the reception until they sorted something. Danielle (who seemed like the manager) came over to us and apologised for the confusion and said he would sort it out for us and ensure we were having afternoon tea in the afternoon tea area not in the lunch area where they were trying to set us up for. He again apologised and took us to our table. We 'd finally sat down after a bit of a wait and the two afternoon tea stands came out straight away. We were then offered a complimentary drink each which was a lovely gesture. The waitress then asked us, do you want any drinks and the only option was tea or coffee, I thought we would have actually had options of different teas. We had one teapot between three and the other person had coffee. It was served in what seemed like a cheap tinned teapot and was a teabag not tea leaves. I didn 't enjoy the tea very much. One tea cup was very dirty and we had some water and one of the glasses had a lipstick stain on it, it was quite off putting. The contents of the afternoon tea itself was okay, the sandwiches were nice and standard like you 'd get at most places. The scones were cold and I 'd expect them to at least be slightly warm and for the desserts they were okay, a good variety. Once we 've received our afternoon tea and drinks, it felt like all the staff had disappeared, we had to ask for more tea and milk and when we wanted to pay, one of us had to get up and go to reception to find someone and it seemed like the other tables that were there were doing the same too. We also wanted our left overs put in boxes to take home so the waitresses did that for us and they came back with what seemed like takeaway boxes from a Chinese restaurant and the lids didn 't even fit. I felt like the quality of the afternoon tea wasn 't up to standard and the little details which make the experience weren 't there. Unfortunately after the experience we had we won 't be returning."
