"We lunched at this restaurant for the first time last Friday. After ordering our meal, we enjoyed a mise en bouche of cold courgette soup with a small taster of rabbit terrine. For our meals, we ordered the Tarte fine de volaille charolaise, ratatouille revisitée,...jus au pesto and the truite fumée, quinoa aux légumes croquants, vinaigrette à l’huile d’olive et balsamique. Whilst neither dish was quite what we expected, we enjoyed both nonetheless. In Australia (where we come from), smoked trout is usually pink, rather than white and the 'tarte fine' was essentially a flat bit of pastry, rather than a tart as we thought. For main course, we ordered the Médaillon de pintade fermière aux morilles et son filet rôti, and the Paleron de veau braisé, jus au chorizo. Both were delicious very tender and tasty. For dessert, we ordered the Macaron au chocolat blanc et glace chocolat, croquant Ambre Java and the Crème brûlée à la passion, ananas rôti et tuile dentelle à la mangue. Without a doubt, the Crème brûlée was spectacular so much so, that I said to my husband 'We should have started with the dessert'! My husband thought the macaron very good. Whilst the meal was extremely good, the service was not so. When we arrived, there was the hostess, one waitress and one waiter. The hostess disappeared quite quickly, followed not long after by the waitress, who made only sporadic appearances. It seemed for most of the time, we had only the one waiter for the whole restaurant. We had to ask twice for more water, and even after asking for the second time, it did not arrive quickly. Whilst we have no problem in waiting a reasonable time between courses, we do expect empty plates to be cleared off the table more quickly. Yes, the food was extremely good (particularly the desserts but the service was not what we expected from a Logis restaurant. The meal, together with a bottle of cremant, was E which we thought very good value"

"Again our friends who have a house locally introduced us to this charming and authentic stop-over for lunch. We all opted for the daily special and are outside at the rear of the premises. The proprietors were lovely and couldn't be more welcoming and friendly as was the young tri-colour border collie who treated and entertained us. This is an authentic place and we were shocked at how inexpensive it was. I suspect we will be back upon our next trip to the region."
