"Actually we didn't but some diners did as they had a buffet of starters and a buffet of desserts on a menu very reasonably priced. You could mix match if you couldn't do both buffets and a main of course. La Brede is just North of Bordeaux and after circumnavigating it without tears felt relaxed and ready for a one course meal. it was a modern place alongside a new motel. Clients were mixed: business folk, workers taking a break from plumbing (or whatever) couples and no doubt family friendly too. The fish Plat de Jour 9.90 euros was seafood choucroute. There was two large pieces of fish salmon and hake and some gambas and crevettes. The large plain boiled potato was rather welcome as had had none during our holiday.For the same price the meat p d j was pork chop and it seemed mega sized. Scallops always appeal and they were 18 euros and well cooked and six in number. There was a risotto with these and I enjoyed it altho it was under seasoned which you can adjust and a jug of rich buttery sauce. A dressed green salad just cleansed the palette nicely."

"Nice place. The campaign in town. I ate for the first time on Saturday, March 26, 2022 with a friend. We were on the terrace so beautiful. Entries, dish and desserts simple and good. The flagship dish is the beef roti with homemade fries, super tender meat that I recommend. Very well served, welcoming sisters. Saturday punch offered. All for 16 euros with 1/4 red or rosé wine. Redo with pleasure Anne Marie"

"According to my opinion, they must judge every single restaurant or hotel by their attitude and what they want to be. this restaurant is a small, friendly, honest place where they are offered great authentic foods for very cheap prices. the owner himself and his daughter greeted us (a group of four) so warmly and helped us in our choice of meals. all this place except the wee and the brot is homemade, the owner told us. eating is pristine French, delicious, with a good quality. we are coming back! it was great to be guests there."

"We were a family of 4 daughters aged 19 and 21 and were recommended to this restaurant as a place for good food, good wine in a beautiful environment and locals. We were not disappointed. Lunch was reserved for 1.00 and when we arrived, the restaurant was full. We had asked for a table on the terrace and sure enough that it waited for us, all the other tables were full. The clients were all French, a mixture of families, couples and a lady who had her 75. celebrates birthday with family and friends. The waiters do not speak much English and we are certainly not fluent with our French, but with a few gestures and help from friendly other diners we have managed to make use of the variety of choices on offer. We went for the 30 Euro menu and all three courses were delicious. A bottle of good wine 35 euros, aperitifs and coffee to finish came to a total of 190 euros. One word of the Council is not to eat in haste. Service was on the slow side, but with views of forest and a stream and with a nice warm atmosphere in the restaurant we were very happy to go with the river. A really good experience."
