"We visited this bar one Sunday lunchtime and there was Sancocho (as a Special) on the menu. This fish meal (cherne) is normally served on a Saturday but we were lucky that Pedro had some extra that he was serving on the Sunday as well. This fish is very meaty and although it is served with bones, it is very tasty and filling. It is served with potatoes, cheese and gofio. Bread is served first with mojo sauces and you order from the menu that is presented in Spanish, English and German. This is a typical Canarian restaurant and there are a large choice of items on the menu and it is a great place to try various tapas dishes. The drink prices are also very reasonable and there is a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. It can get very windy up in La Asomada so if you feel the cold, bring a jacket. There are parasols outside to offer shade when there is full sun. This bar is next to the local church and there is plenty of parking in front of the bar. There is also a large car park at the rear of the building alongside a play area for children. The bar also caters for large groups such as communions, weddings and birthday parties. We would recommend a visit to this restaurant to experience typical Canarian food and hospitality in a small village up in the mountains. If you do not have a car and do not want to take a taxi, there is a local bus (No 34) that leaves from Puerto del Carmen on the hour, every hour, that will drop you at a bus stop very close to the bar. The Sunday bus timetable is limited so check before your visit."
