"Surprisingly good food. I stumbled upon this place after shopping in the area. The outside is a bit underwhelming, but inside is pretty big, though a little dark for a restaurant. Mask is required during COVID period. We were quickly sat down and placed our orders. Service is very fast and friendly. We ordered the vermicelli spring roll as app, a basil chicken fried rice and a vermicelli salad bowl as main dishes. Every dish tastes good. The basil chicken was a little burnt but maybe that's how it should be cooked? lol not sure but they all taste good. Highly recommend!"

"This is my place for a QUICK FIX for Chinese food. The portions were big! I got two big meals out of a single dish. The food was a wonderful smoky aroma, which to me is quite irresistible! You best believe I am coming back here when I'm wanting a later dinner on days I don't want to cook. We had: had this around dinner time 7:00p.m. (before tax) Chicken fried rice: $7.45 Beef Lo Mein: $10.25 Shrimp fried rice: $10.25 Springfield Chicken: $9.75"

"If I could, I would give this place 10/5 stars. I'm not really a fan of Chinese food, but my mother loves it so that we get it often and from many different places. China Star was a bit out of the way, but based on the reviews we stopped. BEST CHINESE ICHVE EVER HAD, HANDS DOWN. Nothing was greasy, the rice was perfect, the fried rice was tasteful and had small pieces of pigs in that it stepped up. I have the shrimps in lobster sauce, because for me the true test of good Chinese is how they make their seafood dishes. It was so good that I wanted to lick my plate clean! And it doesn't smell overfishing. The white rice was fluffy and cooked for perfection. The hot and acid soup was beautiful, rich and spicy. My mom had the lo and they enjoyed it. The noodles were flat, which was a nice change from the cheap round almost orange from most places. Her egg roll was perfect. My son had the solitary chicken and it was perfect, no huge pieces and the meat was not fried in oblivion. I was excited to see that the egg drop soup was not neon yellow like most places. It had a large amount of egg and the taste was tender and salty. We also got broccoli with chicken, a nice basic dish with the perfect amount of sauce and perfectly boiled broccoli. I'll be here every time I bless Chinese food."

"I absolutely love the food that the good people of North China make. It's tasty every time we order and it's a great inexpensive food joint in Midtown Kansas City. I recommend it if you ever need a place to order out from. Unfortunate story on my part, because service on a high floor apartment tower freaks out sometimes, I've accidentally missed my order more than once. However the delivery guy returned every time with our meal and was friendly all the same despite that being a tall order. If that's not good delivery service, I'm not sure what is. But as someone who has worked in delivery, don't take advantage of that. Make sure to always pay attention to your phone or at least set a time for delivery when you know you'll be home, and tip as well as you possibly can! Overall my experience with North China has been nothing but wonderful, with great affordable food and fast and reliable delivery. I recommend it to everyone."
