One of the best meals we've had for a long time. accompanied by a very beautiful setting and friendly people. small detour by their very recommended grocery store. began again and again without moderation."

"We returned for a five night stay and had a wonderful time. As ever, the staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother which considering it is primarily a restaurant with five rooms was impressive. We had six meals here, one lunch, four dinners and one platter the night the restaurant was closed. All were just the right size and prepare beautifully by their lovely chef. We enjoyed the quietness and good food and wine, particularly enjoying the D’Anglars Cahors from just up the road which we thought was exceptionally good. Sadly, we were a week early to miss the musical event they have on this weekend. Last year we enjoyed the soirée musicale which was excellent. If you are in the area, would highly recommend but do book. Many years ago, we turned up hoping to have lunch and it was full. It took another ten years before we returned to th Lot Valley!"

"We've been in the neighborhood for many years and have eaten here several times in years gone by. Yesterday and today we stayed at the hotel and have eaten here several times. Tonight's dinner was exceptional. The service impeccable and the food exquisite. House made...smoked salmon was wonderful and served beautifully. The cod with foie gras sauce absolutely to die for and the dessert of cooked pineapple on brioche was way too good. The wine selection is also terrific and not overpriced at all. I highly recommend this restaurant and chef Jerome!"

"We happened upon this retaurant when we got lost driving around the Dordogne, and it was a good thing too! The food was absolutely delicious and the 14 euro lunch menu was superb. I tried the foie gras and magret de canard brochette which was...divine juicy, tasty and so full of flavour. My friends had the fish and the Moroccan trio, both excellent with light filo pastry parcels, crisp salads and delicious sauces. A great find at great value. The store also sells homewares, and one of our regrets was not buying a porcelain chicken..."

"I am a regular at Le Pukeko in Prayssac, with good reason. It's always reliably good, with a fixed menu. Also David makes the best Cappuccino for at least 30 kilometres around. Equally popular with native French, ex-pat residents like me, and tourists. David and Rosie moved Pukeko here from their previous location 4 Km away in Puy L'Eveque and have retained their old loyal customers and acquired many more. Give it a try!"
