"La Diligence is a Boulangerie/Pattisserie, located next to a bar directly opposite the checkout at the LeClerc Supermarket in Thouars. The coffee here is excellent and the freshly made half bags are to die. I always have a Jambon Fromage Crudites, half a... Baguette filled with ham, cheese tomatoes and salad and the girls know that my wife is allergic to tomatoes and immediately rust the same with egg substituted for the tomatoes. 2 people can have a good lunch here for approx. 10 euros and I can guarantee that you will be back for another baguette at any time."
In pleasant weather you can even have something in the outdoor area.

"What a surprise! Our first visit to Le Pilote whilst out with friends who had eaten there before. Stepping through the door from the car park is like stepping through the back of a C.S. Lewis wardrobe: totally unexpected. A nice airy interior with a personal greeting as you enter and plenty of busy staff set the scene for a most pleasing lunch. Huge choice on the menu from salads to steaks via homemade burgers and pizzas. Jug wine was very acceptable as well. Various levels of 'formule ' at lunchtime, or à la carte. All in our party were happy with their mains which included burgers, duck breast salad and a farmer 's salad. Service was friendly, but not intrusive. Definitely worth calling in here if in the area."

"Lovely clean cafe. Open long hrs with very friendly staff, a few speak English. You can get a coffee,tea soft drink or beer at any time. They make great pastries and sandwiches aswell as pizza.They have a cosy feeling a great place to relax and read your papers."
