"We wanted to try a new restaurant and decided to try Nigel 's. We were met by a friendly hostess and sat quickly. I ordered Bam 's Gumbo and my wife ordered from the daily special and ordered fried chicken with cabbage and Mac n cheese for sides. My gumbo was very tasty. It was just spicy enough to taste but not too spicy for most palates. It had a generous portion of shrimp and sausage. The shrimp tasted like frozen shrimp, but they were cooked to perfection and not overdone. The sausage tasted like good Andouille sausage. My wife quickly said the fried cabbage was the best cabbage she had ever had. The fried chicken was moist and well cooked with a light crust that added to the taste without overpowering the chicken. She said the Mac n cheese was decent and had lots of cheese. Service was good, and the waitress even offered a tea to go before I was able to ask for it. The atmosphere has a good home cooked soul food feel about it and they had a well stocked bar in the restaurant even though we didn 't drink. Overall, we plan on adding it to our small list of go to restaurants and will be returning."

"If I could leave no stars, I definitely would. Generally our experience here is a decent one.However, our experience yesterday really was a bad one.We dined in. Half of our order was wrong. But it was a quick fix and they were great about it. There was a woman working drive-thru, I later found out her name is Jackie (sp who decided to take a personal call in the lobby. She was very worked up, obnoxiously loud, borderline yelling, and chewing out/cussing the person on the other line for almost the ENTIRE time we were eating.Definitely made it uncomfortable and hard to enjoy my meal.I ended up having to leave.Some personal calls should absolutely be taken outside. It was highly unprofessional and inappropriate.I no longer recommend this store and have no intentions of going there again."
