"I had Tom kerridges fish and chips at restaurant £37. Wow I thought extremely expensive , I don't know where he gets his prices from and it was just average . Southend seafront was much better at a tenner. Parking: Not very good Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch"

"It is very easy to claim you have found a new favourite restaurant and then realise a couple of years later you haven't returned. Well I did return for lunch on Saturday and it was just as good as the first time. The mini bread rolls were delicious and although the starters weren't to my particular taste they were still perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. My beef fillet was cooked exactly how I requested and was incredibly tender. The apple and currants pastry was also very tasty and brilliantly matched with clotted cream. The service was delightful and I have already booked return visits."
When the weather is pleasant you can also be served outside.

"We turned up on time for our booking and were told we didn’t have a booking. I showed the booking confirmation on my phone. They said there was no table available for us. They blamed this on a ‘technical glitch’ and didn’t seem to care. We left and had to find somewhere else to eat. Whilst we’ve eaten here before, we probably won’t again, as their attitude was terrible and they don’t seem to be updating their online booking system with actual table availability when we booked, there were 8 tables available online."

"Lovely, buzzy village pub with warm ambience. Eclectic menu which includes pizzas, pub grub, and Indian food. We mixed it up and had burger with samosas! Well cooked and super tasty. Very friendly young staff team. Hurley is a beautiful little village with great walks."

"Terrible customer service!! Asked to pay our bill half way through the night, even though we had already paid. Staff should communicate and be aware of customers needs. No experience of dealing with customers, rude and condescending."

"Have been here a number of times before over a number of years. Pub has now been updated to a very nice standard. Problem on the Saturday night we visited that they had to change beer barrel and clean pipes but could not do it...on the day?. A number of items of food not available as they had run out. Only one Rose wine available and ran out of small Prosecco bottles after one drink. They also run out of pizza bases . Were told that one of the desserts was also off of the menu This was all because of supplier issues as they are tied to the brewery contract. How can you be short on a Saturday night. Staff tried hard but it was embarrassing for them to keep coming back to the table to tell us what was not available.Would go back but please sort food and drink availability"
