"My humble opinion of Feng Mao? Not worth the hype. I read big reviews of this place and when the opportunity came to check it, I was so excited. I was still in progress on arrival, but slightly disappointed that we had to break our party of 8 because the grill was only available on one side of the table... hhmm okay, that was good, as we can still talk to each other when we turn around. Secondly, the menu has skewered items such as mutton, beef, chicken wing, chicken, mushrooms, vegetables as well as non-skewered dishes such as cold noodles, hot plates. Still excited. While we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, we noshed on the banchan options on small mis-en-place bowls of Kimchi, radishes and boiled peanuts. I also noticed a bowl of spices with cumin as the main star. So here comes the spit article Mutton, Beef, Sunji mushrooms, chicken wing, chicken. Not all at once, but in batches, in this order. After our waitress showed us how we cook them, we thought good, that should be just enough and safe enough it was easy. After a bite of mutton it was really good, the spices were great. Then the beef comes, okay, it tasted almost the same as the mutton, huh? Well, what was it Mutton or Beef? I'm still over it. Next the mushrooms, it was not so bad, not overcook it though. Although I saw that some kind of oil or butter was brushed on them, it was still dry. Okay now comes to cook the hardest thing – chicken wings. I didn't want it, so we sprinkled the cuddly before they were grilled, I just didn't care. Then the chicken tasted the same again. My general assumption, it was all such a note, We could not say that the difference between beef and mutton and meat was seasoned in the same way, The hot plates were forgotten, I could not remember what it was – some kind of meat with crushed bamboo sauces. The best spear I had this night was the garlic cloves. Pretty sad. I thought that was a little overpriced for what it was. Since I had a bottle tsing tao, my share of the bill was $8 dollars more than those who did not order drinks. I thought we were short in West Hollywood. The service was very friendly but had to ask about 5 times for water before they came to refill the plastic container. I still don't understand that, although, as we cook those, they weren't organized in their timing. Such a disappointment as I had high expectations. Sad, I wouldn't return"

For $140, we had a feast that included bok choy, beef skewers, lamb racks, shrimp, fish cakes, and chicken skewers. What truly stood out were the numerous free appetizers they provided to complement our meal.The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring our dining experience was enjoyable. One unique feature I loved was the DIY skewer grilling. They even had a device to rotate the skewers, making it a fun and interactive part of the meal.While the sauce was just okay, everything else was exceptional. The variety of skewers and the quality of ingredients made for a delightful meal. Fei Xiang Gong is a fantastic place for a memorable dining experience, especially if you enjoy hands-on grilling."
