"Very good service, choice between pizza (for the seasonal tourists, I reckon) and fish, for the people who love fish. My advice: stay with the fish for it is very good. This cook knows how to prepare fish dishes. Waiters are very correct, and if Italian is too difficult, they can speak english. Fish is fresh, cooked crisp and worth tasting. Just go for it."

"We were looking for a restaurant in Umbertide and found Pizzeria Habanero. The restaurant is located in the basement, and has a great rustic interior. When we came the restaurant was empty, but we decided to eat ther anyway. The staff was very friendly. The pizzas were pretty good, and the price was very reasonable. I can definitely recommend the restaurant if you are looking for pizza."

"Located amid a warren of small streets in Soverato Superiore our van could not navigate. So we parked in the school lot and were led to the restaurant by four charming eight-year olds! This place is not very large and the olive oil presses take up a lot of space. All old stone and wood beams, it was elegant and romantic. The menu offered many choices from field and ocean. All the pastas were expertly turned out. The Calabrian Podolica beef was as tender and flavorful as Kobe at a quarter the cost. An enticing array of wines from small Calabrese cantine introduced us to some beautiful selections. The owner/ staff could not have been more helpful or attentive. The entire experience could not have been better. Calabria is often over-looked by American tourists. However, friendly people, gorgeous beaches and restaurants like IL Frantoio all at very attractive prices should make it more of a destination! BTW... I gave each of our little guides a euro for their help and delighted as they ran off squealing with joy to show their Mamas!"

"Spending a day at Soverato on our trip through Calabria we got to find a place for dinner and asked tripadvisor: what we found was one of the best trattorias we have ever been! We were lucky to be there together with some kind of...family come together (the cooks brother from Mexoo was there for a visit) and we felt part of that all immediately. The menu showed either Italian food (fish, seafood, meat) and also some Mexican food as tacos etc. We decided to ask for some recommendation which was the best we could do! There were deliciious starters, self baked bread, fantastic primi and, as the highlight, the fish soup I think we never had fresh fish ike this before and it won´t be easy to top this! This fish soup was made of four different type of fresh fish with a little soup to let them swim in! Some dolce and un po di formaggio made this dinner perfect, the atmosphere and the very nice people makes it a place where you feel welcome! So if you love Italian food and familiar surrounding while having dinner or lunch go and try this trattoria!"
