"I don't see any ratings for the Deichhof Café right now. It's a pity, I've always been past it, I wouldn't even have stumbled over a tip somewhere. The café is unmistakably located in an old courtyard building and surprises you when you enter. To get to the café, you have to go through an exhibition room where beautiful old furniture is located. It can be bought, of course; at the end of the room it goes to the café, furnished with also old furniture. The second surprise is the cake counter, that is the kitchen. There you can see the really still baked (as rarely this has become pie. Mostly it's just two or three (at least when I was there, but it doesn't matter. Because they are homemade, perfect as we know them (hopefully! from our childhood). Chocolate cake that tastes chocolate, apple cake like our grandmother... wonderful. What makes me use of a huge selection when it comes out of the bag and everything kind of tastes the same? It can happen once that next to the cake someone stands who beats beautiful old-fashioned cream. Right cream. So you don't hear this horrible sound of the spray cream, which collapses on the cake with a small sigh and crumbles. In the beautiful, bright rooms you sit, eat your cake, drink a cocoa with cream and just feel comfortable. Small tip: warm. North, old house, wooden window, wind. All right? It's all right. I haven't been there for too long."

"Verified in July 2021: Same offer well made: Fricadella with salad now 8, ; water 2,50; Softdrink bio 3.50 and a good summertime white wine from Gaul 5,80€/0,2l. 2015: The Press Café is a long-standing institution right on the marketplace/walker zone of the city. The guest awaits a puppet room classically furnished as a café with beautiful scenery for homemade cakes and a windproof terrace in summer. Here, regular guests and customers meet many regularly for coffee and cake or breakfast. The super-friendly operator also offers courtesy and attentive small dishes and a freshly cooked lunch or stew. After good breakfast experiences in the past, we returned to dinner. The table announced beeffrikadellen with homemade potato salad at 6, €. Nice, binding welcome and service; the ordered drinks were quickly at the table: A good Rivaner nicely cold 1/4 l 3,30€, a wine choir with the same size 3,10€ and Gerolsteiner 0.25l 2,20€. After a short time, the dishes reached us: a large portion of potato salad of Hamburger type visibly self-made and tasty with mayonnaise, meat sausage, spice cucumbers, furskins and herbs. 3 smaller hot cattle frescoes nicely fried and fluffy tasty without too much bread content. A salad set of green cucumber slices, paprika, chives with a carving plum formed a matching and crisp decoration, which also tasted. Hausmanns or Hausfrauenkost solid and hearty without Schickimicki... Relaxing stay that we will certainly repeat for a strat Max, a good piece of cake or one of the great cakes; recommended!"
