"Beautiful small pub in small village. exelent service and exelent food! Sundays carvery was spot on, all three of us had the roast pork bell served with cheesy leek and brocoli, apple and apple sauce and a common side of veg. everything was boiled to perfection and large portions, so they definitely always great worth for their money. we also had lattes and again they are good quality and creamy. we had a pod table that I could imagine are even better in summer when they are out. do not let them shut off during this winter, as they have put the pods in a jaquee with heating and it is very pleasant to have their own little blase! well decorated and designed. if they are looking for a beautiful Sunday meal, this is the place will be returned defined. (the pictures don't give enough credit to eat!"

"Stopped off for brekkie en route to a meeting, not my normal breakfast stop, but it opens at 8am so I can leave very early, have breakfast and get to my meeting refreshed. No veggie breakfast on the menu. I don't know why but I always find that rude. I don't want to be an after-thought or have to make a fuss. Of course they could cook me a veggie breakfast without the sausage and bacon, great, but forgot to check if they would cook in vegetable oil. Hope they did. Breakfast was good. Not great, but perfectly fine. Good value at £8. The coffee was a bit bitter. The staff were lovely, very chatty and friendly. Parking is a nightmare until you find out that you can park in the residents parking areas. Otherwise leave your car on the side of the road somewhere and walk. Would probably come back, it's a bit off the beaten track but looks like a pretty village."

"Lains Barn is the most perfect venue for a wedding! We have just celebrated our daughter's wedding at Lains, and whilst the backdrop itself is fabulous, the level of service and care were also excellent, and greatly enhanced the overall experience. We were so well looked after that we were able to really relax and enjoy the day. The barn itself is just beautiful, with converted byre buildings bordering it on two sides, one containing the bar (note: reasonable bar prices too! The venue is set around a central lawn. We had good weather for our event but with so much cover, Lains Barn is really a venue the weather can't spoil. It was a magical setting for the wedding and I really can't praise it highly enough"

"Waited 15 minutes at a filthy table. No one brought the 2 coffees we ordered, or cleared the dirty crockery or cleaned the table. There were 5 teenage staff lollopping around doing not much...and slowly. We told them we wouldn't wait any longer at a dirty table. No apology just a reluctant refund with no till receipt, as the technology didn't allow it. Poor show. Perhaps if the owner hired someone over the age of 15 there might be some actual service? Never going there again."
