"Bad experience tonight"

"I hope Champa's owner will read this.First, if you are thinking of eating there, know that the restaurant advertises as a Cambodian Vietnamese Thai restaurant but in reality it only serves the same vegetable and meat saute in a different sauce, and the sauces we had on our dishes were similar in taste of fish sauce soy sauce and hoisin, even tho they were different dishes on paper. Now for the details of our experience of last night at Champa:I left Champa telling our server we had an overall poor experience and why, and all he said was he understood I felt that way, and good night.Here is what was disapointing:1-My friend called an hour in advance to make a reservation for 3 at 8:30 on a thursday night and was told we would have a table ready by the window: we arrived on time and our table was not cleaned and we had to wait for it to be set.2- we sat there for 10 minutes without even being greeted. After 10 minutes we caught the attention of a server and asked for water and menu.3- another 10 minutes passed before we got water and wine glasses (it's a byob restaurant and we had 2 bottles on the table) and we ordered 3 table d'hôte4- I ordered a prawn dish and when I got it my dish reeked of bad seafood. My friends had beef and chicken and their dish was fine.5- we did not see our server again. The restaurant emptied as it was almost 11 and it closes at 11. When my friend called for the attention of the server (who was discussing with another employee at the till) he was immediately told that we could come to the counter and pay. To this my friend answered: we still have to get the coffee and desert that are included in our meal and you need to come pick up our plates that we are done with and perhaps offer us a bit more water to drink as you did not come see us for an hour and a half. then we can get a bill and pay and get out of here. At this point we were the only 3 customers in the restaurant. 6- the server came and apologized under his breath and picked up our plates. He did not comment about the fact that I had not touched my prawns so, when he asked if we wanted the leftovers packed up to go I tried to mentionned that the prawns were not good but he didn't stay and just cleaned up the table and brought us cookies and a coffee. No bill. The printer at the till was broken which is why we didn't get the bill, but our server did not mention that until we stood up to pay.7- we went to the counter to pay and my friends were both polite and when it came to my turn, since the restaurant was otherwise empty I wanted to mention politely to our server that our experience was not good and tell him why. He did not apologize, did not seem interested to listen even, said he understood and good night.I was very disapointed with my visit and with the reaction of my server to the comments I politely offered, in a low voice in an empty restaurant. I was a server too, and so were my friends, and I know how I appreciated people telling me what was wrong with their experience rather than leaving with a smile and giving a bad review online later. I am disapointed that my comments did not even made him feel sorry for our bad evening. I do not blame my server: it takes a team to run a restaurant and Champa's team didn't deliver.I will recommend everyone to avoid this restaurant."
