"We have enjoyed this restaurant and bar several times in the past. This time, the appetizers (mussels and flatbread) were delicious, but our entree selections were not, most notably the tacos which are listed as an app, but are plenty for a single entree. They had nothing on them except meat, and that had an odd aftertaste. The short ribs and walleye were curiously bland. While the menu reads the same, the preparation seems to have been changed."

"Whether our small party of two or we have brought the guests, all agreed that the food, the atmosphere and the service is great for the price. You have the feeling that it is an upscale restaurant that is very specialized in excellent service and food. The staff has come to know us and our favorites that are so welcoming. We enjoy the seafood pasta, salads, breakfast omelettes, pork snips, roast beef, chicken slaughters and chicken pancakes. It is solid and delicious food served with consistent excellence. It is a great place to take the family and that also offers several healthy choices. I also recommend to try the lobster Mac and the cheese - beautiful big lobster pieces. Your popovers are a regular special. Hazellewood Grill also serves a big Bloody Mary. Try one on Father's Day for a Deluxe look. It was huge and generous with bacon, pimples, pepper, celery, olives and more loaded. It is easy to see why the grill was awarded Best of the Best status several times. NOTE: The outside seat has its own private flower screening. As gardeners they are remarkable and offer a quite relaxing rest. Often there are families with a well-trained dog on a rental contract."

"Food was great, per usual! The service was so/so. We were enjoying our food and company and drinks and was asked no less than 4 times by 4 people in a span of two minutes if they could take any plates. Shortly after this bizarre experience, our bill was brought to us, without any of us recalling if we were asked if we were ready for it. We actually wanted another round of drinks. Based on the plate removal requests and our bill, we were taking the hint it was our time to go. The thing is- there were empty tables around us, nobody waiting to be seated, and the restaurant was clearly still open (it was 8:30ish). The food was great, the service left a bad aftertaste. Our server was clearly ready to go home. Next time ask, and we will be happy to transfer our bill... or take our business elsewhere."
