"Rafferty's Cafe was on our list to try during a short trip to North Cornwall. Pleasant, bubbly owner, good food I had prawn Caesar Salad' (the preferred shrimps per menu were unavailable) pretty basic, but then a well cooked Hake Loin with chorizo. Mrs CG had the signature Rockpool which she much enjoyed. Slightly soulless table against the corner wall in an all but empty corridor position out of the main buzzy area. Was good' and we enjoyed our evening"

"Struggled to get more than one drink throughout the entirety of the meal. The lobster was more like a big cray fish.the steak was very overpriced and only able to be cooked “well done or pink”. Overall it seems like a tourist trap not an authentic sea food experience. Price per person: £70–80 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2"

"I have to echo a previous review, the lobster, prawn and crayfish risotto is one of the best dishes I’ve had. The lobster was so perfectly cooked it was amazing. We arrived in St Merryn really late and we’re looking for somewhere to grab anything. We went in and the kitchen had just closed but Lauren I think said if we ordered straightaway she’d see what she could do. Between us we had 2 risottos, hake or sole ? and pasta. We left 3 bone dry plates and only didn’t finish the pasta because it was such a generous portion. We all then had chocolate and caramel tarts. Again, so yummy!!! By the time we’d finished it was closing time and Lauren said good night and we finished up with the owner Tim? . He was as friendly and nice as Lauren. Excellent restaurant and staff, and even better food. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
