"I love Japanese cuisine, and have traveled to Japan enough to understand what it's meant to be. My first comment here: the reviews are hot and cold, and neither extreme capture this place. So check out Yelp or other online review forums, that have closer to 100 reviews. That said, I like Takara Sushi. My kids LOVE it. The sushi is fine: clean, tasty and good. It is not the best sushi in the Bay Area, but it's better than most. I've visited this place maybe 20 times over a few years, and have never had a bad experience with the food. So the really bad reviews seem weird. Who knows? I've never had a problem. The servers are generally friendly, but I would call the service hit and miss. When it's good, no worries. When this place gets busy though, things can slow down sometimes enough to be annoying. On the whole, I'd give it a B+, which is better than most. My favorite place for sushi is down near Palo Alto. But I am always happy to go here, no question. Thumbs up!"

Utensils came with a toothpick for the seaweed teeth. 10/10Dietary restrictions: I have food pollen syndrome. I was still able to get a multitude of veggies, which is rare."
