"We came here after a family funeral and the organiser of the wake had ordered food on everyone's behalf- but unfortunately a meat option in a cream sauce was chosen, which for the vegetarians in the party, was not ideal. It didn't seem unreasonable to a) expect the restaurant to be understanding of the fact that the funeral organiser might have bigger things on his mind than getting everyone's food orders correct and b) therefore accept a slight change to the order- mainly that one of us decided to only have the salad starter in order not to be too difficult and another just wanted a plate of fries. The waiter had a big problem with this and made a loud fuss. He couldn't see why somebody who had to organise a funeral might get the food order slightly wrong and was very offended that the vegetarians of the party were not going to accept a plate of food they couldn't eat. Thankfully other guests were generous so one ended up with two salad starters and some plain noodles and the other was begrudgingly given the plate of fries by the restaurant after a serious negotiation process. Not impressive. Not planning to go back."

"I did not go to the Chutzen because of the restaurant, but because of the spectacular view onto Berne, Thun and the whole region. The Chutzen is absolutely breathtaking! We had deserts (was good,) drinks and just enjoyed the walk up to the scenic point and the view. It's absolutely worth going."

"The restaurant is upstairs in a beautiful old chalet style house right in the centre of Gümligen, beside the train and tram station. An Italian Restaurant to rival any. We have eaten many times here, as a family, a group of friends, for lunch and for dinner and takeaway. Sampling most of the dishes on the menu. The staff and owner, Basil, are always friendly and attentive. And the food is always delicious. There are always interesting monthly specials in all courses and have a great range of wines. It is difficult to pick a favourite but the garlic prawns are heavenly. A really great restaurant!"
