"Popped in for ‘Happy Hour’ to a very unhappy grumpy owner/manager. Rude, couldn’t bring himself to smile or make us feel welcome. Irritated when we asked what cocktail/drinks options there were. To the contrary, felt like an inconvenience serving us. Won’t return. Very poor service. I’d rather drink a bottle of wine at home!"

"Lou Peyrol is described as a restaurant with rooms. Our son and daughter-in-law had been for dinner and came back saying how good it was, so we booked. The restaurant is run by a French chef (reputedly 2 Michelin stars but taking a break) and his British wife, who runs front of house (so no language problems if you need any explanations). The menu is relatively simple (but it's still hard to chose) and we thoroughly enjoyed all our 3 courses plus amuse bouche and other tasters. The foie gras is probably the best I've ever had. Unfortunately we understand that the current owners are moving on so, if you want to enjoy this restaurant, you'd better be quick!"
