"We had a wonderful server named Lesley who made our dining experience very enjoyable and the food was just outstanding. Complements to the chef! The hostess was also very friendly. We were told seating would be about 25 minutes, but we only had to wait maybe 10 minutes . The restaurant is very beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxing. Come for the food, though, and you won't be disappointed. Got a pleasant surprise at how good the celery soup was, and I don't even like celery. A bit spicy from the datil pepper, but oh, so good. Everything in the pictures was great and provide an extra meal at home. Highly recommend this place when in the St. Augustine area of Florida."

"As regular patrons of this restaurant for the past 5 plus years, we recently chose them to cater our engagement party. The process was really smooth, reasonable, and the food was a huge hit. Having Javier perform and play guitar was the icing on the cake. Our guests absolutely loved it all. I would highly recommend this family-run restaurant and local gem."

"We visited the Salt Life Food Shack on a busy Saturday during Spring Break. We checked in at 7:20 and had about an hour wait but believe we were seated a little sooner. The place was bustling! Live music was on the outdoor patio which was nice to listen to while passing the time.Once seated our waitress was very friendly and was attentive to our needs. We only ordered two entrees, the Grouper with lump crabmeat and a Seafood Boil. My grouper was good. It was probably cooked a few minutes too long but still tasty. The side vegetables were good, however they were in more olive oil and butter than I care for typically.My daughters boil was tasty and there was plenty of food for the cost of the dish.We did enjoy the beach atmosphere and outdoor seating area. There is a patio ground level and a rooftop deck. We were seated on the deck and there were couches to sit at which would be fun with a group having cocktails.Overall, decent place for a meal. Just be prepared to wait if you go during high time"

"We've been here for over 20 years and it was our always popular restaurant. Tonight we did not find air conditioning in the main area. We were lucky to ask for better air and have moved back. Understanding these things, we chose a fantastic dinner. Then we were told that they no longer offer their ingenious bread, but still have their famous salad. (It's a must!) Unfortunately we found out that the shop was sold in Dec and the new owners took all the old world Florida charm decor and now there are only white naked walls. The menu was reduced and the prices were high and it is simply not the same. I will say the waiting staff is AS WONDERFUL AS USUAL!! I sincerely hope that the new owners will reconsider the changes and bring back what made this place a bucket list every year. I can't tell you how often I recommend this place just because of its charm.."
