"We were here In early July, mid week, and had no issues with a table. The hosts are about as nice as you could ever hope to find. Even more than typical small town Newfoundlanders. The place is based on dinner menus, so you order a full dinner of lobster, several kinds of fish etc, and everything else comes with your meal (including soup, desert and coffee/tea). They will only offer it if it's fresh, so some of the theoretical menu is indeed just theoretical. What you are guaranteed is the freshest fish, and it was indeed great. Prices are extremely attractive, so a definite recommendation from me."

"My family and I have eaten in restaurants from Stephenville to near L'Anse aux Meadows, and this little cafe in Rocky Harbour has the best seafood chowder we've come across. The staff are great to talk to as well. We love this place."

"The menu is mostly seafood but if you call early in the day a chicken or beef dinner can be arranged. The poached salmon was delicious, served with corn chowder, potatoes and vegetables. Dessert, coffee and tea are included. The portions are generous. Everyone was welcoming and very friendly."

"We ordered veggie omelette, hash browns and french toasts. Loved the hash browns we had. Tasty and crispy. Omelette despite being veggie was not bland at all like at other breakfast places. Tasty! French toasts were also great. The shop has other local crafts things etc as shown in the picture. You can buy souvenirs as well. Owner was very hospitable and nice guy. Place is not that big so can get busy quickly. I would definitely go there again!"

"I have to say, this was the absolute WORSE seafood chowder I have ever had in my life. Living in Newfoundland, you have to expect good seafood chowder, or at least great fish chowder, this was neither. I was a gluey paste of flour, too much pepper, no flavour, no seafood, MAYBE a 1/2 teaspoon of some sort of fish, but not enough to give it flavour.. I'm telling you, I'm serious, this was horrible soup. Now, to top it off, as you can see in the photos, the soup didn't even come above the ladle part of the spoon, and it was $23.00 for two. As far as I'm concerned, this place is a tourist trap,, charging huge money for horrible food. Really, we live on the island,,, HOW can you screw up seafood chowder?"
