"This was my first visit to this historic local restaurant on the Erie Canal. Terrific location and atmosphere. I ordered salmon which was perfectly cooked and seasoned with a dill relish that was absolutely delicious. Seasonal vegetables and rice onthe side were very good. Portion size was perfect. My husband ordered scallops which were plump and sweet and seared toperfection. The service was friendly and efficient. I am looking forward to returning soon to try some of their other menuoptions. Highly recommend! ???? ????"

"A fixture and a family of East Rochester! Have always loved their food, and as importantly, their generosity in the community. They support the Arts and other organizations. They gave even when business had slowed due to Covid, and when we most needed fundraising for our Nutcracker with the New York State Ballet. Many thanks Northside Inn!"

"Very impressive wine list! The service was absolutely fantastic as well. My steak was cooked medium to well when I had ordered it medium rare. I politely brought it up, and I got a new steak almost immediately. The manager even came over, talked to us for a bit about the wine, and asked if there was anything else we needed. The excellent recovery made me even more satisfied with the service than if it had been medium rare to begin with. The ambiance is wonderful and intimate, yet energetic. This was our second time at Black and Blue and I sure hope we visit there again."
