"Yes, what an experience on my home holiday. I am especially approached from Erlangen, where I am currently staying. 7nd I wouldn't be disappointed. I still like the Schäuferla: so legga , they do not have to offer in my polling home Bochum. "After sampling beer in every brewery in Bamberg my husband concludes that the schwarz bier at the Klosterbrau is the best! The staff are friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I chose Domina red wine and this too was lovely.. can't recommend this place highly enough!"

"A healthy hike up several hills to get you to the top, overlooking the spires of Bamberg. Only outdoor seating in a camp like atmosphere with stringy lights and loud music. Food is typical German fare. We all ordered the chicken which was only so-so. Rauchbier was excellent. Service was slow, as you have to flag down the waitresses as they fly by. A real experience, not to be missed."

"We spotted the Henrii from the bridge and headed over to have a drink at their long high table and watch the sun go down. We had a very helpful waiter who spoke excellent English and helped us with our wine choices a glass of pinot blanc and one of Riesling, both good and excellent value, we enjoyed the setting so much we had another glass."

"I'm a native bamberger and my whole life I'm going to the schlenkerla. as a small child, I put my finger in the beer of my parents when a student with my Italian exchange friends "birra affumicata" drank and even today a Bamberg stay is complete only when I was at least once in the schlenkerla. for me, the Schlenkerla beer is one of the best (and most idiosyncratic) beer that exists (in many countries one tries to imitate the smoked beer) and that eating is one of the most tasty and qualitatiw high-quality, what one can get in bamberg. the bamberger wobble and the crispy beerhaxe. and - you must have said it really once - also the services are the absolute top class. I have often witnessed that mass flows from tourist to schlenkerla (without a table reservation) and the patient services tried to accommodate them somewhere. Moreover, it requires the utmost sensitivity to explain to our Japanese visitors what is the difference between sushi and bauchspeck. And only yesterday I was really happy that at 25 degrees outside temperature the cool, freshly tapped beer stood on the table within two minutes. So, from the whole heart a thick compliment to the Schlenkerla controls and I'm glad that the schlenkerla has been like that for 50 years now."
