"Visited last night, walked in and stood quietly waiting to be served, the gentleman in front of me was picking up an order, the staff were unprofessional, not using gloves, handling phones, money and food, I stood for 10 minutes being completely ignored by the staff, all 5 of them continued to ignore my presence, a couple walked in and were immediately served. If this is the way you treat customers, then you wont have many. I have been a telephone customer for some time, this time I went in. You will no longer be receiving my custom. Ignorant and unhygienic is an understatement."

"Strongly recommend you avoid this once pleasant venue. We were sat next to a couple who spent the evening shouting and swearing at each other and when I raised the issue with the slim young waiter with glasses that was serving us, he couldn't have been less interested. This place needs to decide whether its just another tatty Devon pub or is trying to deliver a more upmarket experience. If the latter then it would do well to give the staff some training in handling undesirable guests and get a new chef the food has definitely gone down of late and isn't worth the money they charge. Very disappointing experience."

"Delicious and wide selection of salads as well as a few hot options such as lenses and roasted vegetables either to eat or away. It was £7.95 for a salad box you can fill with everything you like as long as it closes! It is quite small inside, so could not find any place, but it was the lunchtime."

"Visited this lovely pub several times recently for Sunday lunch. Excellent food friendly hospitality. Fantastic log fires making it cosy warm on a cold wet February lunchtime. Highly recommended."

"A stunning small, clean, beautifully presented and charming caffe, where today the four of us had lunch with wonderful crab salad with double boiled chips together with a seafood basket. fortunately we booked in advance. the service was charming helpful and professional and we cannot wait to return. we understand from others that the early pieces are equally substantially and excellent and also offer the same really incredible worth."

"We stopped for a bite to eat on Thursday lunchtime. The food is fantastic, probably the tastiest Italian that I have ever had. We sat outside and even had the delight of a great busker to listen too. Will definitely go again next time we are in Totnes"

"The most incredible experience! my partner and I decided to stay here and we were so glad we did. as others have said, each court is a joy. it is a kaleidoscope of aromen and textures where everything works. it is clear that a lot of love goes into preparation and presentation of the dishes. the price can dismiss something, but if they visit the opposite for vacation and feel they can spend a little more than they otherwise, it is absolutely worth it. the complete menu will fill you almost securely; we had some rest we like to take with you to enjoy the next day! there are few restaurants that let customers stay for 3 hours, but bianca and massimo were so welcoming. we enjoyed taking our time and chatting with them. I'm going back to devon to eat here again!"
