"Xanten cuisine is hearty rather than refined, but this place comes as close to fine dining as anywhere. Very pleasant surroundings too. As with most local restaurants, the menu relies heavily on pork, but there are plenty of fish and veggie options too. The champagne and mustard soup I had was very tasty indeed, but within our party no one had any complaints with anything. Watch the portion size though they are huge!"

"I can only see that the reviews from 2013 are clearly outdated. I only know the house since 2015 and it is obviously no longer comparable to the old house. It is now very harmoniously furnished maritim, the service is friendly and professional and the clear menu offers something for every taste. We like to go to dinner and coffee."

"I visited the restaurant after a long day after work and it was a nice surprise to end up with a perfect evening. There's a huge selection of wine and the server was extremely friendly. As the menu was only available in German, I took the recommendation of the "fish" item, grilled mackerel on top of a colorful bed of cous cous with assorted vegetables. It was very delicious. I would come back again! :)"

"Zuerst das Gute: die Terrasse war top, sehr gemütlich und ruhig. Aber leider: das Essen und der Service sind verbesserungswürdig. Das Rumsteak und die Friten waren ganz okay. Die Nudeln (Spaghetti) mit Gemüse und Ei leider nicht, es war eine nicht sehr harmonische Kombination von Gemüsen (u.a. Aubergine, Knollensellerie, Champignons, fast rohe Paprika), alles in allem zu säuerlich, auch das reingeworfene Ei konnte den Geschmack nicht mehr retten. Der Service war barsch und nicht sehr aufmerksam. Schade."
