"Had heard about and had to try. My partner and I stopped off yesterday. The food was brilliant and the staff so attentive. Shown to our table and drinks order taken with menus left for our perusal. The choices were lots, and simple question of ‘what would you recommend’ was answered with confident expertise. The recommendations were brilliant we settled for starters of squid and from the street food section, the cauliflower, followed by the Exotica Balti and the Gromi prawns all food was top top class!! Well worth the trip from Newcastle we’ll be back"

"There's nothing unique about John Dory's it's decent food, it's relatively pricey and there's nothing that sets it apart that makes you want to call it your favourite chippy. The service is standard, nothing to shout home about. "We have booked for a family dinner, 8 of us and a high chair. the table top was placed for 6 2. who would do that? the service was very slow to feel as if we had brought them out.....and to ask for everything, drink to order food when the food came, we didn't get any cutlery. my partner meal actually came with a pot on the plate....it was empty! how can a cook and a server not notice that it was empty? we had to remove our own plates from our table to the next empty, which was not deleted either. we were not asked if we wanted dessert or tea/coffee. we had to go into the bar and ask for more drinks. Eating was okay, but expensive for what it was, nothing special. do not even ask for something similar to a simple cocktail. be careful when they ask for gin to drive it up. without asking you!"

"Oh my oh my the worst place in the world.my gf and I got a chicken burger with bacon and cheese with a chip..the chicken burger was a rustler burger and I don't lie when I say this chips where stinking had to leave em and they charged us like 8.50 each.i would go to eight south just arcoss from this dive."
