"Having chosen to eat here as the Italian was closed I was initially pleasantly surprised by the value and food. It was a little formulaic but tasty and served with good humour. We chose a menu which came with a wine or coffee and chose a glass of wine each. At dessert we were again offered coffee but declined. After finishing the meal again we were offered coffee and my partner caved in. I went up to pay and the proprietor had substituted a coffee into the set menu and charged us full price for the wine. I asked him to explain and he said 'c'est pas noel'. I know it's only a small thing and only 3 euros extra but be warned, if you have the menu and want a coffee afterwards pay for your meal and take the coffee in the bar!It kind of took the experience down a few notches."

"Just for the restaurant, I didn't test the hotel part: cold reception, no smile, no friendliness, no goodbye for our departure but we didn't have to say hello when entering either :-sServices deplorable :Les Entries on waffles: do not expect a hot waffle, they are cold and elastic...For meat: all our cooking had been exchanged. For example, I had asked about it, I found myself with a blue one. :- So we all exchanged our plates between us. Fortunately the meat was good, that's already it! Same problem for children: 4 children so not a superhuman effort of memory and the 4 ice creams had been exchanged :-sPlus 20 minutes to bring back water carafes.Medium: we were in a reception room, there were spider canvases all over the ceiling...The Grand Hotel certainly had its hour of glory but unfortunately ageed badly..."

"Having visited this restaurant numerous times while living in France and never having a bad meal, my husband and I decided to try it again after not visiting for four years. It was very busy, so expected to wait a little longer, it was our starter came and that was ok. Our main course was awful, my husbands lamb cutlet was very thin and grisly with a small garnish and a pile of chips, no sauce so very dry. My duck leg (which was boiled) came with the same garnish and chips also no sauce, certainly not what we have been used to in France. I asked the waitress if it came with sauce and she said no, my husband complained about his lamb and she said it was perfectly alright and shrugged. We left without having a dessert very disappointed"
