"I would give negative stars if possible. When being seated, we asked to be placed in a safe area because the host, who supposedly was the owner, was not wearing a mask. As we were sat, I turned to see and hear the owner say about my mother “oh she wants to be safe…..unbelievable” while rolling his eyes and shaking his head. I then called him out about how rude an unprofessional he was for making a comment about my mother about us wanting to be safe during a pandemic. The “owner”, instead of apologizing for his horribly unprofessional behavior, proceeded to tell me that masks don’t work when i said how inappropriate it was for him to talk badly about a customer loud enough for them to hear. We wound up leaving the restaurant after he went into a tirade about how masks don’t work and we are in the same position 2 years later. Instead of apologizing again for saying something so rude and arguing about why he shouldn’t have to wear a mask, we were told we can leave when I stated that I was a business owner in the county and follow mask and social distancing protocols. While leaving, the owner then stated we can come back in, which I refused, and he then stated he never said anything about my mother when being seated. A business should not be allowed to be open if they won’t follow health and safety protocols serving food with no masks on, let alone be rude to guests that are high risk and are trying to be safe. I’ll never give any business to any location and will do everything in my power to let people know the unsafe and rude treatment we were given. My father has cancer and has to be extremely cautious, yet we weren’t given that option and were berated about it."

"Today, we ordered a Southwest Chicken Bowl. Asked for the tomatoes on the side, no bacon, and rice pilaf instead of hash browns. The waitress came up to us and said that the cook made our order wrong ... he added the tomatoes and the bacon. So, very patiently we waited again for our food. Finally, after 1-1/2 hours of waiting, our food was served. The order was wrong AGAIN. This time tomatoes were on the side and no bacon, which was fine. BUT, the cook forgot to add the scrambled eggs and the rice pilaf! We were really ticked off at the whole experience. So we ate what we could, which was a very small amount. Oh but the waitress said that she could have the cook make our eggs and rice pilaf to go. WHAT? Wait again, and who knows for how long? So, the waitress told the manager, Alenjandra what happened. All she did was give us a 20% discount. Why did she even charge us for this meal that was not our fault? Should have been free or we should have been given discount vouchers for our next visit, which now, is never going to happen. This I-Hop used to be managed by Jody, then by Sydney, who were really great at their jobs. Now, this girl, Alenjandra, from Mexico comes in and tries to manage a restaurant, in which she cannot do. My advice is to stay away from the Crystal Lake, IL I-Hop. They have a very quick turnaround of employees."

"If you're looking for a quiet romantic spot this is not the place. It felt more like a sports bar with loud patrons disturbing the other diners as they watched a game. In my opinion not the type of ambiance for French bistro. Certainly a casual atmosphere including the employees. Appetizers the duck pate is excellent and I must try if you stop in. The escargot is also excellent, baked with a lite flaky bread blanked over the top for dipping, nice touch! The Baked Onion soup was pretty good just a little bit on the sweet side. Main Course loved the Duck leg and Duck sausage both were excellent prepared to protection. Note the sides were so so. Green beans were over cooked as were the carrots. The peppered steak was a bit chewy but seasoned well. The portions are large with reasonable pricing a bit unusual for French food. Give this one a try...no need to get dressed up jeans work!"

"What a GEM! Vine and Plate is our new favorite haunt! The wine list is trim but exceptionally mighty (I don't think I've had a single glass there I didn't enjoy and the tapas is inspired. If you get a chance to go before they take the sea bass off themenu DEFINITELY make sure to try that. Also, if you have a pooch, they have a patio area and welcome well mannered dogs! :"

"A wonderful team makes going to this Chic Fil A amazing. Everyone is friendly, inviting, and helpful. The service is fast, the food is fresh, and the price is good.There’s a reason that this is one of the busiest fast food places in Crystal Lake. They have demonstrated consistency in their product, and customer service.I’ve not had a bad experience to date, and I don’t expect that will ever change."

"The worse when I get the waitress marissa. she tries to push everything and acts as if everything was inconvenient. I have received this woman several times with several different people like mine, and every person who was with me has thought the same. the most recent time was today. my cousin and I were out to eat and apparently she ordered her to eat incorrectly since she did not specifically begin by saying she wanted the 3 for $10 (even if she showed up) the waitress made it so much, and I thought seriously my cousin would cry because how rude she was. will never sit with her again."
