"Stumbled upon this place based on recommendations from Reddit and other social media. Everyone spoke highly of the selection here, and after visiting a few times, I can certainly see why. Their butcher case has all kinds of cuts everything from brisket to lengua and the staff seem willing to cut just about anything that a customer asks for, even if it 's not something that 's ordinarily in the case. The Saturday tacos and quesadillas are very good as well be sure to ask for cilantro and onion, and get a container or two of the 'super hot ' sauce. It 's not as intimidating as it sounds, and it rounds out the flavor of the meats well. I wish there was a soda fountain for lunch service as opposed to vending machines, but I 'm sure there 's a reason. Also wanted to give a special shoutout to the bulk meat man (Joe, I think? . I 've had my eye on buying bulk beef for months now, and in about 10 minutes, he explained my options and sold me on a split side. I thawed out a steak for tonight and let me tell you it 's better than anything I 've found in a grocery store, by a mile!"

"This is my second review of Grunauer within the last days. Our first experience was not the best, but after visiting with management, they deserved another try. For our second visit we went on a Monday night. The special on Mondays is JÄGERSCHNITZEL, which is a favorite of my wife. We also went with another couple, to add another viewpoint We ordered the bread basket and I cannot over state how excellent it was. The rolls were fantastic! Highly recommended For dinner ordered the Jagerschnitzel, ordered WIENER SCHNITZEL and I ordered the BAUERNSCHMAUS. All dishes were wonderful. We shared all of our meals around the table so that we all got to taste each entrée. I recommend all of them. The wiener schnitzel comes with a cucumber potato salad and I have shied away from ordering dishes with it, but after tasting it, that is no longer the case. It was unique, but great. We did have a misshape with our order. While our friends meals were delivered in good time, my entrée and my wife's entrée was mistakenly delivered to another table. Since it was delivered and left at the table they had to remake our meals, which caused us to not get our food until our friends were done with their meals. But they let us know right away about the error and corrected it as soon as they could. Hey I make mistakes too, so I am not holding that against them. So now I highly recommend Grunauer. It is a wonderful change from the normal steak and BBQ we have so much of in KC"
