"Best takeaway between Port Douglas and the Equator. Had a steak sandwich (which came with beetroot and an egg, so it was a proper steak sandwich) for only $16 reminded me of the legendary Eucla Roadhouse Steak Sandwich of Awesomeness from '82 when I was cave diving out in the Nullarbor. Wife had the cheese burger which she loved cooked just right, not greasy, not dry. Then we had chips. Minimum is a bag for $4 and we couldn 't even finish it between the two of us. Then there was Dave, the man himself (plus the missus out in the kitchen). Dave 's history getting to Port Douglas to finally prepare food for us should be made into a documentary on ABC, or at least made into a statue at the Wharf. This place is busy, so Dave made an estimate between 45 and 50 minutes, give me your number and I 'll call you when it 's done. Legend! Even Maccas hasn 't thought of that one. In case you were wondering, it actually took 47 minutes, so Dave 's food preparation estimates are second to none. The wife and I strolled the main street in the balmy evening air, secure in the comfort of knowing Dave would call and he did! We 'd already returned and sat awestruck by his stories as he regaled us of adventures far and wide. People gathered around in hushed tones. Passers by nodded with murmers of that 's Dave! . We sat and ate in the warm night air once served. A memory to last a lifetime. And this can be yours too. Visit Dave, have some fish chips or a burger, you won 't regret or forget. Highly recommended."
