"The great reviews on TA certainly are well-deserved. This little (family run) restaurant has almost everything that makes eating out fun—it is nice and cosy, has friendly and efficient staff, and offers good food at affordable prices. We had a set menu and different items from the menu and we could not fault the restaurant, everything was fresh and nicely presented. The gnocchi with brown sugar were not our cup of tea though. Also, even though the food is delicious, it would be nice to provide salt and pepper shakers at the table, perhaps even some olive oil. Some customers are not comfortable asking for extra seasoning because it makes them look unappreciative of the chief’s effort."

"This is our third visit to Line and certainly not our last. The food is exquisite, the service warm and friendly and dining area elegantly and tastefully furnished. The chef Federico is a genius as well as a passionate and genuine person whose enthusiasm shines...through on every plate. We have followed him from his early days in Perilla in tuscany to Due Buoi in Piemonte and now to Pavia. His cooking really is the bench mark by which other bistro's should be measured. The food is creative but never over the top our too cheffy Beautifully plated, unfussy and with flavours that compliment each other perfectly. The tuna tartar with mustard mayonnaise was a poem! The egg in a crunchy coating with potato foam was deliciously morish and an example of Federico's inventive style of cooking the manages to cross the divide between inventiveness yet still comforting leaving you always wanted another spoonful! My partner loved her pork ribs with a delicious pineapple and pepper relish which perfectly complimented the succulent marinated meat, which just fell off the bone. The wine list is excellent. We choose the Vermintino from Capichera in Sardinia which went down a treat with my sea bass. The rapport between cost and quality is excellent and dare i say it, if Lino's was awarded a michelin star (which is surely only a matter or time in coming) the prices would and should be far higher. Ignore any other negative review, this is the real deal."
