"We’ve eaten at Café Doonan many times as it’s generally been pleasant enough. We’ve often taken visiting guests there as it’s nice to have a meal somewhere leafy that’s not in the middle of the hustle & bustle of Gympie Terrace or Hastings Street.Sadly, our last couple of visits have been really sub-par. Time before with 8 of us last the food was pretty sub-standard, for example my eggs Benedict tasted of nothing but vinegar. Today’s visit was disappointing on a number of fronts.As it was a warm morning the three of us wanted to sit outside under the trees. The choices were a couple of small tables for two, a large table that hadn’t been cleared away, a large table that hadn’t been set for the day & was covered in c**p (literally… bird poop etc) and a large table that had a ‘Reserved 8:30’ sign on it. We tried the small tables & just couldn’t fit 3 people so as it was after 8:45 we figured it was pretty safe to sit at the ‘Reserved’ table. Just before 9 our meals arrived and staff, with our meals in-hand, told us we couldn’t sit there as the table was reserved. We pointed out the time & they said ‘sorry, they are regulars…’So… ignoring the fact that they could have; a) – cleared the other large table for their phantom ‘regulars’ or b) – cleaned the un-clean table for their phantom ‘regulars’ we were moved to… the table covered in bird poop. Yes, they offered to clean it but that's not the point.About midway through our meal the ‘regulars’ (who are apparently much more important than the people who have just paid over $50 for breakfast) turned up. Two of them. By the time we'd finished there were still just two of them. On a large table. And they’d ordered nothing.Seriously Café Doonan. Get your priorities straight & have some respect for customers please.The food itself ended up not being worth the hassle – bacon with the eggs benny was dried (like it had been sitting warming), hash browns were soggy, my partners poached eggs on toast with avo came with one smallish piece of toast.So anyway… in-short… we won’t be back which is a shame as it is effectively our local. We’ll go somewhere that has a bit more respect for paying customers who are actually there & is more consistent with its food."

"I almost don't know how to describe our experience at Noosa Valley Manor. Renate and Roberto are hosts beyond compare. They hosted my wife's birthday. We were supposed to celebrate in Italy, but Covid, but we found Italy here. The long lunch menu was sublime. The service exceeded all expectations. You walk in and your senses don't know what to take in The grounds are beautiful and serene. The rooms are immaculate and the beds are like sleeping in the clouds. The only problem I have is now they have spoilt us so nothing else will compare."
