"A weekend away with friends in Mornington Peninsula, I found this gorgeous cafe for a Sunday morning brunch! Nordie Cafe has a modern scandinaviaan twist to their menu and we were very excited to try the place.<br/ <br/ LOCATION<br/ <br/ Nordie Cafe is situated in Red Hill area within the Mornington Peninsula. It was about a 15 minute drive from our AirBnB in Capel Sound just by the beach.<br/ <br/ The exterior of the cafe is of a dark blue grey colour and very modern looking and situated in a small row of shops. Upon entering the counter and barista coffee station is on the right hand side, separating the dining area is a large open shelf with books, knick knacks that is available for sale. To the left is 2 spacious communal long table with swivel stools, and if you walk further to the back there is another separate dining section with more tables and chairs. <br/ <br/ There is a large open space seating area outside and it would be suitable for big group gatherings on warm suny day.<br/ <br/ We had arrived at 10.30am on a Sunday and the cafe was already at 95% full capacity. We ended up sitting at the end of one of the large communal tables.<br/ <br/ SERVICE<br/ <br/ The staff is extremely friendly and very down to earth. <br/ Menu were provided and we were told to order and pay at the counter when ready.<br/ I guess in a way it makes the service easier as it is hard to keep track of customers coming and going as I have noticed there were alot of people coming in to get take away food and coffee.<br/ <br/ Even though it was very busy, our meals arrived within 15 20 minutes from when we ordered.<br/ <br/ MENU/PRICE<br/ <br/ Red Hill Rosti Benedict, $22.50<br/ (Potato rosti, smashed avocado, roast mushrooms, poached eggs, truffle hollandaise and macadamia) <br/ <br/ Nordi Green Bowl, $22.00<br/ (Kale, spinach, broccoli, beans, quinoa, beetroot hummus, salsa verde, pistachios, poached egg)<br/ <br/ Salmon Smørrebrød, $17.50<br/ (Open dark rye sandwhich with smoked salmon, red onion, horseradish spread, cucumber, remoulade and herbs)<br/ <br/ VERDICT<br/ <br/ <br/ I had the Nordi Green Bowl, but swapped the poached egg for a potati rosti which was an extra $3 charge. I was slightly surprised yet delighted when I started to eat the broccoli and beans to find that they were lightly cooked which was great. The warmth of the greens mixed with the kale and spinach over the betroot hummus was absolutely delicious. The salsa verde was light and refreshing mixed with the greens and the flavours of the pistachio is a nice touch. Cannot fault this dish! Yum!! <br/ <br/ Smørrebrød is a traditional Scandinavian open faced sandwich. The smoked salmon was fresh and tasty mixed with the delicious remoulade herbs and horseradish spread! <br/ <br/ The Red Hill Rosti Benedict as my friend put 's it was 'awesome '! He loved the roasted mushrooms there were 3 different types on the plate. The potato rosti was cooked well with nice flavour and the truffle hollandaise rounded off the dish perfectly! <br/ <br/ It was a delight to find this awesome cafe in Mornington Peninsula. I will definitely visit Nordie Cafe again when I make a trip back there again!"

"The food was served so late that we had to wait almost 1 hour, the man who took our order was very rude, the prices they charge for the type of food was ridiculous and not worth for money the meals are very small. the chef was embarrassed by the behavior of the owner. I will not take too often this place."
