"We went to La Tralla as part of Almunecar's annual Ruta de la Tapa, where area restaurants show off their Tapas and people judge them. It was busy when we got there but there was a table open so we sat down. The waiter told us that the table was for eating only, and if we wanted Tapas we had to sit at a high table next to the street. The chairs for those tables are too high for my wife so we decided to go to another restaurant then come back when it wasn't so busy. When we came back the lunchtime rush was over and there were at least 6 tables open, so we sat down again and again the waiter told us if we didn't want to eat then we couldn't sit there. We speak enough Spanish to let him know that we didn't like the high tables and he said then if you don't want to sit there just go. Apparently we weren't going to spend enough to make it worth his time. He seemed to forget that the Ruta de la Tapa isn't the only time we go out to eat and our friends also ask for recommendations when they want to go out. Guess which restaurant won't be getting any recommendations from us?"

"This is our 6th visit in a short space of time. We only discovered it 2 years ago wish we had been before. It is utterly outstanding food, wines service. For lunchtime eat inside as it’s cool away from the heat. The crisp white table cloths, napkins beautfiful glasses crockery could make you think you are in a Michelin star restaurant. We opted for the set lunch menu which is excellent value at 35 euros pp. Amuse bouche, artisan bread from nearby baker in Motril, 4 courses plus sorbet palate cleanser made from local mangoes. This truly is heavenly to visit! Ask your waiter for wine pairings too very reasonable pricing. We have also been for the set 9 course evening dinner delicious and interesting just make sure you starve yourself in the day! During the evening we love to sit outside in their terrace on the plaza as it’s so buzzy. Wonderful restaurant even if you just visit for drinks enjoy their tapas. We will be back soon."
