"At first glance La Cortina looks like a fairly plain bar, with cafe style tables and chairs outside, and situated across the bridge from Panes and across the road from the Rio Deva. A small bolos' pitch is also opposite. However the food! It's...fresh, simple, tasty fare. Recommend everything we tried: the bonita (tuna), the mushrooms (setas fritos), ensalada (a delightful dressing on super fresh lettuce, tomatoes and red onion), the chuleta ternera (veal chop), and the meatballs (we think veal/pork mix). I ordered patatas el ajo which I thought was going to be fried potatoes in garlic but turned out to be cold potato salad nice all the same. The kids loved the huevos y patatas fritos egg and chips. I also once tried the revueltos con setas (scrambled egg and mushroom) but which also came with jamon (ham), so veggies be clear. Inside is also fine, and there's an enormous flat screen tv to watch any important football...altogether one of my top three restaurants in Panes."
