"Today an online offer selected to try this sweet little restaurant. it was not sure what to expect except it was probably French cuisine. our preset 3-course dinner allowed us to choose from 3 meals of the menu each cure. the appetizers, carpaccio and garlic sampi’s, were delicious but nothing from the usual for a restaurant in maastricht. decided to ask the foie gras as an extra, served with some compott and roasted brioche and enjoyed brilliant. the most important courses were amazing. the bavette was prepared for perfection, red on the inside and almost black on the outside. the meat was so beautiful and delicious. the canard a l’orange had the best orange sauce I had for a long time. very thick and sweet and full of taste. the duck itself was slowly cooked and fell apart by the touch of the fork. I was long time since I scratched my plate clean, but it seemed like such a drop to leave everything behind. the staff was friendly and helpful and the deourage is very pleasant and warm. great choice when they cook on the look for a high quality French style at a fair price. I just hope they can get one table."

"We went there with high expectations due to the positive reviews. The location is really nice as well as the stuff. However, when it comes to food, we were a bit disappointed. We took the tasting menu, the first dish with baby lobster was a bit flat not seasoned. Dessert was also nice but not really fitting to a tasting menu as it wasn’t anything original. While we understand that it is a tasting menu, the portions were really small vs the prices that they ask for.I am sorry to say there are better options in Maastricht."

"The sofa restaurant is located on the beautiful grounds of kasteel de hooghenweert, but not part of the same business group as the hotel. the sofa restaurant has beautiful settings, both in the open and in the interior. it is a true pleasure to spend here on dry summer afternoons and evenings. one day we had lunch and the next dinner in the outside area of the restaurant. many people on both days, mix of local and tourist, and they could say that the people were here on the go. Eating and crying we tried was delicious. service very attentive, professional, pleasantly informal. I would highly recommend this restaurant if in the region maastricht – aachen – lie and a small reroute planning."
