"Now changed name to Szechuan Gardens. New refreshed menu. My wife and I both commented that the food was very good, fresh hot and tasty. "Poor food and service (from the manager). We ordered our starters. 3/4 were fine. One person ordered ‘crispy duck rolls’. They arrived. No crispy duck at all. Just pastry stuffed with soggy duck, no veg or anything normally seen in a spring roll. Asked our waiter if this could be changed who said he would ask the manager. The manager came over and when shown the food he said it was our taste that was the problem and not the food. He said he wouldn’t swap it or take it off the bill only give another dish and charge for that too. Mains came. All mediocre. Short ribs were so chewy and fatty. No point in raising this issue really after the first attempt. Could see the manager pulling our waiter to the side multiple times after he had been to our table making us feel uncomfortable. Lovely waiter service but poor food and managerial service."
