"Wir waren bisher zweimal im "Maharani" - und sicher nicht das letzte Mal. Als Vegetarier aßen wir folgende Vorspeisen. Zwiebeln in Kichererbsenmehl (Onions Bhaji), Vegetable Samosa (Teigtaschen mit Kartoffeln und frischem Gemüse), Knoblauch- und Tomatensuppe sowie Knoblauch-Nan. Alle Speisen waren raffiniert gewürzt und schmeckten sehr gut, vor allem die Tomatensuppe war ein Gedicht. Als Hauptgerichte aßen wir: Frische Auberginen, mit Zwiebeln, Tomaten und Erbsen püriert, indischen Spinat mit hausgemachtem Käse, Kichererbsen-Curry mit frischem Ingwer und verschiedenen Gemüse. Bis auf das Gemüse (schmeckte etwas fad) waren auch die Hauptgerichte ausnahmslos sehr gut, würzig und fein abgeschmeckt. Was die Alkoholika betrifft, sollte man am besten bei Bewährtem bleiben, also bei Lassi, Tee, Säften oder Bier. Aperol Spritz, Sekt, Wein oder "härtere Sachen" trinkt man am besten woanders. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich, die Speisen kamen zügig und heiß. Das Ambiente lädt zum gemütlichen Verweilen ein. Wir hoffen, dass es das "Maharani" noch lange in Freyung geben wird und kommen sehr bald wieder."
