"Great place. Wonderful sum. The waiting time was slow. But as soon as the server took our orders, the timely delivery of food was efficient and fast and more important the dimming sum and duck we ordered was divine. It is certainly delicious."

"Came here for my partner's birthday and he loved the food. We ordered duck, fried rice, noodles, dumplings and soup, all very tasty. The duck had crispy skin, was fat and tasteful. The noodles were, personally, my favorite dish. The dumplings were also very delicious. The servers are not really people, so do not expect a large extroverted waiter. You go, take your order and go. However, food is not disappointed, so are not discouraged. Overall a beautiful place with very good food."

"There are 2 no, there are 3 Sam Woo’s. The on Culver in Irvine has attached a “fast food” BBQ. Sam Woo also has another restaurant in Irvine on Walnut and Jeffrey. This review is for the Culver Seafood version. I ate there twice in December. One was a private party in the back room. I think there were 4 round tables of 8 people. Apparently there is a minimum order of $350 to book the room. The food was absolutely delicious. Served family style and presented on a turntable, faul Susan, I never had such unusual and tasty Chinese selection. I really can't tell you what I ate most, I tried everything. The orange chicken was the best I ever had – not tender and ill sweet as most places are suitable to serve. I was a guest in the restaurant and not paid, so I'm not sure the prices, but I think someone gave it $35 per person, no alcohol. We had English speaking Asian servers that were well trained and personal. The second visit was with some friends during the week, All older women, except 2 of us, we are all also Caucasus. I mention this because this restaurant is the meeting place for many Asian men at lunch. The waiting staff was excellent, they even gave the 7 checks separate from us! The food we individually selected with the help of the waiting staff was served family style. The waiter patiently explained ingredients and contents of hotness. We had 7 cakes plus rice and cookies with tea. The bill came a little over $10 per person. There was another lazy Susan who made life easier for us. We had 7 different dishes, some were so well served by the staff. I think nothing was mediocre. Several in the group went back during the holiday period when they visited relatives to feed. I recommend each of their ducks, but the shrimps were also special. We were over two hours, eating and chatting, and nobody looked at us."

"Hokkaido is not a special place to eat buffet. Nothing makes this more remarkable than a casino buffet, or any other. But the work is done, offers a wide range of Asian foods. You want sushi or sashimi? Orange chicken? Duck? Cheesecake? You have it. They would also cook some fresh from the wok as it looked, although I didn't go there. I thought the sushi was OK. They had things like Philadelphia roles, California roles, spicy tuna, vegetarian roles, aal and so on. The salmon sashimi was slimy and wanted to throw me up. The tuna has had good texture and taste. The curly dishes like chicken and noodles were nothing too special. I thought it was cool how they had the Mayonnaise shrimp shell that is always tasty. Many were hit and missed. Some dishes lacked taste (custard tart, some desserts), while some were delicate and savory (sesame chicken, ribs). For 15 dollars it is worth going to Hokkaido. It is a beautiful place to slip on massive amounts of Asian foods from different types. Then again, it is probably worth going to a place like Todai or a high-quality Asian restaurant. But whatever."

"Everything was perfect from waiting staff to dinner. Our server was very attentive. The food was great, the crab cake is to die."

"We've been here often and enjoy the wait staff and the menu but tonight, our anniversary, the menu really outdid itself. I had the most incredibly delicious, perfectly done and perfectly selected Ahi Tuna sesame crusted. It was fantastic. The ambiance is very nice although the decor is sans tablecloths. Unfortunately when we arrived there was a family with a noisy child who apparently disrespected other diners as they made no attempt to quiet or remove the child. Fortunately they were at dessert and once they left, the restaurant returned to its usual compatible for conversation and nice dining atmosphere. Also love the Christmas decor when that season is around. We never feel rushed but when need be, we have been accommodated with quicker service. For our anniversary, they let us linger and enjoy the evening for a long time."
