"Been to Castellina in Chianti three times now. Chose this place for the first time because the menu had seafood which is not common for the area. We are so pleased we gave La Chiantina a try because the experience was great. Greeting, service and staff were top class and food excellent. We has fisherman’s risotto to start which we asked to share. The waitress brought out two servings which was unexpected. My wife ordered Sea Bass and I had Salmon for mains. The Sea bass was perfectly cooked but the salmon was a bit overcooked. The meal was still very good and completed with a nice bottle of Vermintino. Dessert was tiramisu done in a unique style which my wife was very impressed with. Couldn’t be happier with the choice of restaurant. Be back to try the scallops next time. Highly recommended."

"We had not been to this restaurant for at least a decade but ended up one Wednesday PM for dinner. Wednesday and Friday evenings Alla Piazza has a fish menu and the fish mains (sea bass or orata) are excellent as in well prepared and well presented. There is also a fish stuffed ravioli and other fish staters, primi and secondi choices in addition to their regular menu. I mention the fish as it is a rarity in rural Tuscany. Service is good, the wine list carefully chosen with a local house white that is an unbelievable bargain. We found the food to be excellent value for money and the view from the terrace is fantastic, particularly in the evening as the sun sets. This restaurant was the surprise of our 16 days in Tuscany this year. Recommend without hesitation."
