"One of the first restaurants to open in the town, on the night we went there were 6 diners in total, but it's still very early in the season.Celine does front of house superbly, such a joy to chat to, her husband does the cooking & wow what cooking!No menu, just a blackboard, making it simple to update the dishes as & when things come into season, a good wine menu & a comprehensive aperitif menu too. We skipped the aperitif & went straight for a 2010 St Estephe glorious red.A simple menu, but varied, I went for the soupe de poisson, with all the accompaniments, I've had a few in my time & the question is, was this the best I have had, I'm not sure but it was incredibly good.On to the main, I had a duo of veal & lamb with really tasty roasted potatoes served in a magnificent sauce. My partner had the duck with the coquille st jacques (scallops) & cognac sauce, a superb course, both incredibly well presented, showing how much the chef appreciates making his dishes.Then for the dessert I had the cafe gourmand, it really was a masterpiece & then to be informed that one of the creams was avocado, made it even more incredible.This restaurant is so worth seeking out, it is just off the market square, you can book on line & when the season gets going I reckon you will need to book.Are they striving for a Michelin star? They could be, what is sure is that the whole experience should stand them in good stead to see them retain their No.1 slot on Trip Adviser.Say hi to Celine, you won't regret it."
