"This review is for their restaurant only. I didn't stay at their hotel. It's a solid Franconian restaurant in Ansbach. Like many other establishments in Germany, this restaurant is family-owned and operated. Service is excellent. Menu is quite extensive from appetizers to main course meals. Franconian dishes tend to be very hearty like American comfort foods. If you don't like/eat pork, your options will be limited. Vegetarian options area somewhat limited. Price is quite reasonable for the serving size. Bon Appétit!"

"The Hotel Gasthof Zur Windmuhle is a comfortable, friendly place to stay! I have stayed there numerous times for work and vacation and always find it clean, quiet and friendly. It is family owned and operated. The restaurant serves delicious, traditional, German food. The owners and staff and super friendly and helpful!"

"The setting is really lovely. There are even chickens roaming around. The food is also quite good and fresh, but it's true that the wait is a bit long. So, give yourself some time, relax, and enjoy a real Franconian experience. The walking trails across the street in the woods are a nice thing to combine with the beer garden. There is also a nice path from the beer garden into town."
