"I ordered from Peony house recently and decided to have Sweet and sour chicken in batter, Salt and pepper chips and Egg fried rice. I did also try sweet and sour pork Cantonese style and some prawn crackers. The total price for my food was £14.60 which is a little steep considering other resteraunts you can try a bit of everything for less and they a are much nicer. The sweet and sour pork Cantonese style really wasn’t very nice, awfully chewy. The salt and pepper chips were so underwhelming compared to other Chinese takeaways and needed way more flavour, just bog standard freezer chips, fried with a tiny bit of seasoning. The egg fried rice was sub par and the pieces of egg too big, it didn’t come well together with the rice. The sweet and sour chicken in batter was such an unusual shape and although the batter was nice, the meat was dry. Sweet and sour sauce a nice colour and consistency but full of pineapple, prawn crackers big but flavourless. Wouldn’t be rushing back here anytime soon, unfortunately."
