"We had a wonderful server named Lesley who made our dining experience very enjoyable and the food was just outstanding. Complements to the chef! The hostess was also very friendly. We were told seating would be about 25 minutes, but we only had to wait maybe 10 minutes . The restaurant is very beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxing. Come for the food, though, and you won't be disappointed. Got a pleasant surprise at how good the celery soup was, and I don't even like celery. A bit spicy from the datil pepper, but oh, so good. Everything in the pictures was great and provide an extra meal at home. Highly recommend this place when in the St. Augustine area of Florida."

"We have been visiting this place for years; the experiences were great before, but this time, the service and speed failed our expectations. We visited on a Saturday around 1pm, the restaurant was about half full. It took a while before we were seated, and it took another while before our server took our drink order and also quite some time before we got our drinks. Knowing things were slow (it seemed like they were short on staff), we were trying to get our food order in as soon as possible, but we were told by our server that we had to wait until she finished other tables’ orders (that came in before us) before she would take ours. We were disappointed by this, but there was not much else we could do other than keep waiting. Food ordering process went okay, but on our seafood plate, our server didn’t ask if we would like it fried, boiled, or blackened, and we forgot to say we would like it blackened it was fried. I guess that was the default cooking option. Wish the server would always ask and not just assume or pick for guests. Food was good as usual, solid 5*, but the entrees took 30/40 minutes to arrive after we placed the order. Adding in the wait time for sitting down to get the drinks and to place the order, this meal turned into a very long meal. Not something that we had planned for."

"We visited the Salt Life Food Shack on a busy Saturday during Spring Break. We checked in at 7:20 and had about an hour wait but believe we were seated a little sooner. The place was bustling! Live music was on the outdoor patio which was nice to listen to while passing the time.Once seated our waitress was very friendly and was attentive to our needs. We only ordered two entrees, the Grouper with lump crabmeat and a Seafood Boil. My grouper was good. It was probably cooked a few minutes too long but still tasty. The side vegetables were good, however they were in more olive oil and butter than I care for typically.My daughters boil was tasty and there was plenty of food for the cost of the dish.We did enjoy the beach atmosphere and outdoor seating area. There is a patio ground level and a rooftop deck. We were seated on the deck and there were couches to sit at which would be fun with a group having cocktails.Overall, decent place for a meal. Just be prepared to wait if you go during high time"
