"Le cadre est sympathique et original. Quelques tables sont situées de l'autre côté de la petite ruelle de village. L'accueil et le service ne sont pas le point fort de l'établissement, mais la qualité des plats le font vite oublier. Des produits frais, bien travaillé, à la cuisson et l'assaisonnement parfait. Un bon établissement simple mais efficace !"

"All our local friends love this place. We went there for the first time at lunch, and no waiters were to be seen. We waited 20 minutes as other people were at tables and we sat down. The staff were chatting in the kitchen. They came out to serve food to others and completely ignored us for another 15 minutes. When eventually I got the attention of one of the waiters he casually replied "I 'll finish off my cigarette and then come to you!. We saw him sit down at the side and then smoke 3 (THREE! cigarettes in a row. Eventually we decided to leave and go elsewhere and another waiter then came up to us and said he would take an order. Rude and unfriendly just like his smoking buddy. We ordered their tapas dishes for lunch as that was all there was, and it came with one fork and two knives and no side plates for 3 people. Huh? It was OK but with all the bad vibes who would want to go back? As we left they put up a blackboard saying the dish of the day was quiche and salad. That would have been much better had we known, but of course no-one told us, and putting up a sign after the meal is not so smart! These people need to start drinking some of their best caffeinated coffee every few minutes and get themselves together. People go to restaurants for food and a nice experience. This was a misery and full of bad vibes and arrogance. They need to get some professionals in this place. However we won 't be going back to see if they improve. I doubt it, as there is such a aura of smugness and self-satisfaction and treating customers as annoying inferiors that only a complete change of personnel can change."

"Staying in St Maximin we wanted somewhere local. We were recommended Le Tracteur but found the staff rude and unwelcoming. We should have tried L'Estanquet first! So friendly. The owners could not have been more welcoming. The food, too, lived up to the enthusiasm of the patrons. Delicious. Between us we had sea bass,rabbit, squid Niçoise and veal; all agreeing that they were wonderful. Puddings, too, were lovely. When we return to Uzès next year we shall return to L'Estanquet"

"Looks nice but service was very slow, best part of 1.45 hours to get our main course, and unwelcoming. And food was probably the worse we had in 2 weeks of good eating in france. Probably a bad day in the kitchen"
